What a person needs to play "good poker? Even veteran players may give a wide range of opinions on this. There are, however, a single correct definition. The goal of a poker player is to choose the strategy with the highest expected value (EV). Every poker decision has two parts:

1. Make an assumption about what the strategy of your opponent.

2. Choose the strategy that has more EV based on what you assumed that is the strategy of your opponent.
